I havent even heard of a maternity grant 😱

I applied for mine on the 29th of August and still haven’t got anything back, how long did it take for them to get back to you ?

Got a text that they received it 24th September got a text 7th august that it’ll be in my bank in 4 days

@Sophie oh okay, thank you

I applied for it but wasn't allowed it due to my partners income

@Kerry it's only for people that don't work

How do u apply for this?

@Kerry you're only entitled to the sure start maternity grant if you're already in receipt of certain benefits and your income is below a certain amount

@Charley thank you. I looked into it and you also need to not have another child under 16.

I think it’s only for people on benefits 🤦🏼‍♀️

Within 7 days or so

@Kati this is so unfair if it’s true

What makes you eligible?

21 days after I applied for it

Within the week

@Kati as usual 😑

@Sophie literally!! where’s help for the working pregnant women

Above comments not true ^, I work 50 hours a week and my partner works full time also, when I went onto maternity leave at 38 weeks I was able to go on uc (don’t get much due to our income but we have high rent) so therefore was able to get this maternity grant and received it few weeks after applying when baby was born. Lots of people are entitled to it even when working.

@Chloe so you do have to be on benefits then if you were in UC?

@Kati yes but that depends on your income if you get it or not, I was referring to the comments saying it’s for people who don’t work.
