Anxiety previous loss

Anyone else really struggling with anxiety? I’m 8+5. I had a scan at 7+4 and baby was doing well, we saw a heartbeat and was measuring on track. I had a missed miscarriage with a previous pregnancy so I’m really struggling with not knowing if baby is ok. Am I the only one or is anyone else feeling like they are losing it?

Same!! Every twinge, every cramp, anything in my knickers (sorry if TMI) and I’m worried sick that it’s all over. We have also had a loss which we feel like we have PTSD from. but finally we have our twin pregnancy confirmed last week. We saw heartbeats on the scan, but the reassurance only lasted about 24hrs before I was worried again. Have you thought about getting an at home Doppler? Some can detect as early as 8 weeks? Hope you’re ok! And you’re not alone!!

Definitely feeling that here! I've had 7 years of infertility with lots of failed attempts and 2 miscarriages which were all viable so as with you seeing the heartbeat is only reassuring for a short time. I've also had some really bad bleeding due to a subchorionic haematoma which doesn't help. I think as long as you know you're looking after yourself then you're doing all you can. To help with my positive mindset I'm buying little bits on vinted and everytime they arrive I get a little positivity boost. I'm also finding things that make me feel positive like old music I used to like. Hoping positive mind will help with positive outcomes. My ivf clinic has said this from the start so it's finding ways that help you feel that. I don't think I'll feel ok until baby is in my arms so it's a day at a time xx

I’m exactly the same! I have another scan booked for this weekend after having one two weeks ago at 7+3 (where everything was absolutely fine) because I just can’t wait until the 12 weeks scan to know everything is still okay! I’m hoping after this scan and the 12 week scan I’ll start to feel less anxious 🤞🏻

@Anonymous so sorry to hear this! I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

@Francesca I have thought about it but then I’ve also thought that it might make me worse. I’d be finding it constantly and would be so so worried if I couldn’t.

@Laura I had the same with my previous pregnancy. We saw a heartbeat on a scan, had another scan 3 weeks later and found out baby had stopped developing. It’s heartbreaking and has completely changed how I feel about pregnancy. Some people are so positive about it and once they see a heartbeat they’re like “I’m definitely having a baby” whereas, I don’t feel that way at all.

@Sophie I’ve also booked another scan for when I’ll be 9+6. I’m hoping if everything is ok after that then my anxiety will die down a bit

@Anonymous fingers crossed for you

I completely agree! I think until I feel movement it won't feel real. But also it's completely natural to feel this way. Especially with everything we've been through xxx sending you lots of love and positive thoughts xxx

I’m the exact same. I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks last year and another early one this year. I’m now 9 weeks 2 days and have had scans on NHS at 6 weeks and another last week at 8 weeks 4 days which were great and reassuring for all of 5 mins. They are giving me another scan at 10 weeks (next week) but my anxiety is through the roof as we found out last year that baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks 5 days, and we’ve just seen baby at 8 weeks 4. I am on progesterone and aspirin this time so I’m trying to take comfort knowing I’m doing everything I can. I’ve also been reading a book called Pregnancy After Loss by Zoe Clark-Coates which is great and has a day by day guide to get through. Admittedly, nothing will take away the anxiety but finding small ways to cope helps momentarily. We have booked a private scan for Friday this week just to put my mind at ease until next week with NHS scan. Try and do whatever you feel will help your anxiety xx

@Rhianne im so sorry to hear about your losses. I hope everything goes well on Friday, I have everything crossed for you xx
