Feeding

I ebf my 6 month old baby girl and our pediatrician said i can now feed her purées too. I asked her how long for and she said until she’s about 9 months old to stick to purées then start chunking it up and trying solids. What did your peds say and how long are you doing purées for?

My pediatrician gave the greenlight at 4 months because my daughter was able to sit up and shown signs of interest in food. I waited until 6 months anyway because I'm on WIC so we could save $. She doesn't like solids like I hoped so now I'm just letting her play with her puree and get used to it without being force fed. Eventually I'm hoping she'll start to like something. 😆

I make my own purees with my baby Elvas machine for my son and so far he's loved almost everything he's tried, besides bananas (I hate bananas). He's only tried about 11 different types of fruits and veggies and then beef and turkey so far. I had a choking scare with my first son who's now 12 so I'll probably stick to purees for quite a while and then slowly introduce more solids. My pediatrician didn't really go into detail about how long to feed purees or anything. I'm sure your motherly instincts/intuition will help guide you in your future decisions more than anything else will. ❤️

Our pediatrician said the same thing. She can start eating more textured foods at 9 months. As for feeding how much how often, she said that is completely up to the parent. I told her I give my baby purées twice a day, so she recommended giving her breakfast and dinner. When it comes to what foods and how often you feed, it’s all up to you. And then with my WIC appointment, the specialist told me I could replace one bottle feeding with purées. There’s a lot of different thing that can be done
