I specialized in addictions with my psych degree and it seems like this could go along the lines of, is it like a sex addiction? The person typically needs to have sex to fulfill that need but doesn’t necessarily enjoy it. Unfortunately a lot of things in our modern world desensitizes people when it comes to sex so it’s hard for them to feel “turned on” or enjoy it. Ex: porn, etc… That’s kind of where my mind goes with what you described. They could also be missing an emotional connection to someone that could lead to a lack of arousal. Just throwing some ideas that came to mind. Wish you answers!!
