When can I start collect Colostrum? I’m 24 weeks is it to soon?

i would wait until your atleast 37 weeks… ik it’s a long time from now but it can induce labor but definitely talk to your OB about it! i never got to build my milk supply or get colostrum bc my baby came at 36 weeks 😔

Yes too soon! Extracting your milk can induce labor

Not until 37 weeks and only then should you hand express. Using a pump could trigger early labour

I was producing and collecting from 20 weeks on. And they do say it can induce labor however I was a week late and set to be induced when I went into labor. It’s a small risk for an unbelievably good octcome, not to mention if u can and do go ahead and start collecting it will make it so that u have more milk supply when baby comes in! And fun fact colostrum will actually help u ur family kids like big people not just babies too! It’s great for the immune system and healing u if ur already sicky.
