HELP/ADVICE

Anyone else in the same boat, I've had gd for 5 weeks now I was taking insulin 4 times a day but I cut down to twice evening meal and before bed, I'm eating the right things but always getting high readings, breakfast and lunch I have no insulin but getting good readings I eat what ever I like up until dinner 🙄 basically I find myself getting higher readings when I have insulin and all I am told is put the dose up. Very tempted to just stop taking insulin I only take 4ml I know this is low but the more I take the higher the reading

Eating a veggie first at the start of each meal and taking a 10-15 min walk can make a huge difference with blood sugar spikes! The “Glucose Goddess” method has helped me a lot! I was up to 28 units of insulin before and now I’m not taking any!

@Kali that's amazing well done, I'm only down to evening meal and fasting insulin now but can't seem to get my evening meal one down atall 😂 no matter what I eat xxx

@Kali when did you know to stop I'm down to 3ml for dinner but worried about just stopping ibdont see it doing much at 3 xxxx

I was up to almost 40 units and I knew unfortunately after a really scary experience that led me to the ER. I was having really big highs and lows for two days and then woke up in a pool of sweat with super low blood sugar. After the second time and it got critically low we called 911. The only thing the doctors could agree happened was that I was on too much insulin. They wanted me to reduce but I stopped completely to see what my baseline was and learned I could manage on my own with a walk after each meal and continuing the diet.

Thank you I've taken your advice with the veg first and omg this has made a big difference I've had no spikes what so ever ❤️

YAAAY so happy to hear this!! My favorite is to sauté spinach because it’s so fast and very nutritious.
