Baby Dinner Ideas

What’s everyone’s top 3 meal ideas? I’m feeling stuck in a rut with what I’m making. The plan was for my boy to eat what we eat, but we are often so rushed for time we have quick fajitas… not something for baby 😅🤦‍♀️

I’ve just moved my daughter to stage 2 food and have been experiencing a lot as she was funny with textures so far this is what she likes to eat: 1 potato, broccoli and mozzarella blended 2 beef lasagna mashed 3 sweet potato, chicken, cherry tomatoes, onions, garlic and zero salt broth cube, small amount of rice ( all fried first and broth/rice added afterwards, once cooked blended) 4 potatoes, fried leeks and cheddar blended with a bit of boiled water. 5 sweet potato, carrots and squash blended. You can add more water if you want to make it thinner consistency. I hope this helps. X

My baby loves purees and finger foods- weird as she wont eat anything lumpy but will eat crunchy toast?? 😵‍💫 So I always give her BLW finger food along with some smooth on a spoon. So I will do whatever veg or meat we are having as finger food, or if its a non baby friendly dinner the finger food would be something like toast, crumpet, cheese, breadsticks, melty sticks etc. And then a veg or fruit puree, yoghurt, porridge, weetabix or a smooth pouch. I know that isnt really any inspiration but I guess its just to say that greek yoghurt and fruit with some finger food is fine for a dinner! Its so hard to think of 3 meals

I’ve made a bolognese up pretty much mince, onions, tinned tomatoes, herbs and popped into a silicone ice cube tray and bought the pasta stars from Sainsbury’s, I’ve blended the sauce up. I also make her tuna pasta. I’m not finding it easy for her to eat what we eat either! X

I have given my baby the following recently. Always make a batch and freeze portions. * fishpie - cod, tomato, leek, potato, double cream, zero salt vegetables stock, fresh dill and some pepper. In a large oven dish i put 1 cm sliced potatoes that I have pre boiled for a few min to make a lil soft at the bottom, then add the cod that I have chopped in to small pieces, then top with chopped up tomatoes and leek. After that I use about a cup of double cream and mix in the fresh dill, zero salt veg stock and some black pepper and pour it over the cod and potatoes. Then put in the oven on 180 degrees for about 40 min. ( then you can either blend it or serve as it is depending on what feeding method you use) My baby girl absolutely love this and a great why for her to eat some fish. X

We tried last week for her to eat our meals but something really unsettled her belly, not sure if it was too rich for her. So gone back to basics. I love making little crustless quiches (egg in a muffin tin in an oven!) With whatever filling you fancy She loved the carrot mac n cheese I made last night, actually found a recipe without cream cheese!

- salmon fillet baked and steam sweet potato. Mix the 2 once cooked and that’s enough for 2 portions. Sometimes I add soft cheese - dhaal - so easy and enough to freeze and last a few days - boiled egg & anything (avocado, sweet potato, sausage minced) So easy and my go to if I’m in a rush or want to prep once. I also I only give porridge for breakfast with fruit or peanut butter for consistency and he loves it. The above is usually lunch and then for dinner I have started prepping egg muffins (makes 12 & takes 20 mins) and take 1 to warm up and let him eat that himself and then offer mashed banana/yogurt

If you’re having fajitas, give her tiny pieces of meat/veggie and some avocado. We had creamy risotto with veggies and sausage today which was new, baby and toddler both loved it so that’s our favorite new meal

I do a lot of batch cooking and will then freeze it, so tonight I have done a batch of chicken with sprouts, carrots, parsnip and potato’s. I have the same with lamb and beef in the freezer with different veg. I also have cottage pie and some veggie pasta sauce I made ready to put with pasta for a finger food meal. Also made some little cheese & broccoli muffins (in the freezer) ready for lunch and he will have some melty puffs, cucumber and raspberry’s to go with it. The prep takes a little time but worth it in the long run as I also have a fussy 2 year old to deal with aswell 😂

Thanks all!! I think batch cooking may be best! Tonight we had a coconut veg curry so I’m trying my boy in it tomorrow, and have another 2 portions in the freezer. X
