I’m just wondering if anyone knows anything I could do to get a cooker been in my house since may this year and really struggling to buy a cooker I have a one year old so do ideally need one is they anything I can apply for with the council does anyone know doing it anonymous because I’m embarrassed I have got an air fryer and cooker but it’s easier for a cooker to cook a lot more things

You can get a grant that you don’t have to pay back for your first property with hull city council. Also you can get an advanced payment from universal credit as well. X

@Kaitlyn thank you what grant is it do you know? My house isn’t with council that’s all it’s with a housing association would I still be aloud this I’ve already had an advance payment from universal aswell and paying it back so can’t get another one😕

I think you can still get one. Double check with both council and housing association but it’s called a community crisis payment I believe.

I think there is a grant or loan from the council to help with white goods, may be worth giving them a call so you don't apply for tye wrong thing and risk getting rejected. Maybe worth contacting citizens advice too x

I don't even use my cooker, I just use my air fryer and my halogen. Get a halogen maybe?
