Stopping breastfeeding

I’ve breast fed my daughter for 5 months and I’m looking to stop, she does take 1 bottle of formula every now and again but I have no idea where to start & how much to give her? Can anyone please point me in the right direction Thanks

When I stopped breastfeeding I did it slowly to reduce the chance of blockages or mastitis, so I first dropped the morning feed and gave a bottle of formula instead (I did 150ml to start with), then built up the bottles over time. I wasn’t in any rush so it took me a few months to completely stop, the night time feed being the last ones that I changed to formula. My daughter now has around 6 bottles of 210ml a day, although she doesn’t always drink it all!

@Kelly your answer has helped me as well as i have been thinking to stop breastfeeding as well. Can i ask you how you managed when you were out and about? What did you have with you?

@Asteria do you mean for formula when we’re out? We use the ready to feeds so we don’t need to take flasks or anything, just the ready to feeds and some bottles! We tend to take 3 with us if we think we’ll be out for the whole day as she feeds around every 3 hours x

@Kelly oh i see! Thank you
