Anxiety/palpitations

I'm 24 weeks and this is my 3rd pregnancy I feel so anxious this time around I don't know why. I get random waves of feeling anxious which makes my breathing funny and palpitations in the morning or random at night! It is so strange. Maybe hormones.

You poor thing, I’m sorry to hear that. I suffer from anxiety and did a lot of CBT on my anxious thoughts at the start of my pregnancy which really helped. My anxiety would wake me up at night and I’d lay there thinking of all the things that could go wrong and why I was undeserving of being pregnant. Journaling my thoughts before bed has also helped and/or a 20 mins walk where I just try to be present has helped too.

I’m wondering if it’s hormones too, I’ve been fairly chilled this time around but all of a sudden I feel anxious about everything and nothing. Had my flu jab today which I’ve always had every year and I’ve been worrying/panicking about side effects 😅🤦🏼‍♀️

@Sara hi sorry for late response I have actually started CBT I've been waking up at night now with palpitations and just having the weirdest dreams/thoughts I'm going to try read some books and do abit of journaling before bed. Do you recommend any books? Xx

@Jessica this will be my 3rd pregnancy but all have been very different I do suffer with anxiety generally health anxiety to be exact but this pregnancy seems to have brought on alot of uneasy feeling overthinking everything. My last pregnancy was absolutely great I felt the best ever so I think I had expectations I was going to feel the same which unfortunately not

Hi Sara Sorry to hear how you’re feeling, but CBT is really good on your pregnancy book. It has some numbers you can contact if you’re going through like that you can Contact if you need to speak anymore

Ahh yes I know the feeling, I was lucky to never suffer with anxiety and then I had my first born and bam! Riddled with it and most of it is always health related. I found a guy on YouTube called Shaan Kassam, his videos have really helped me especially in the depths of feeling burnt out, he covers so many areas, so I definitely recommend watching then if you’re struggling and need some relief from feeling on edge x

@Jessica yes this is exactly what happened to me after my 1st born I got struck with anxiety/panic attacks mainly around health as well My daughter is now 11 in 2 weeks and I've been managing it on and off for that long I have my ups and downs but this pregnancy has set off a lot of worries which is soo draining! Thank you for your recommendation I'll have a watch
