Sitting to eat

Hi mummies! Can you all please tell me where your little ones sit when having food? We usually have a highchair at our dining table but I don’t want my little one in a highchair as he’s getting older and so any ideas would be helpful. Thank you! X

We have a stokke high chair and high chair catchy (it was super helpful when she was still making messes with her food and throwing it everywhere), but since her third birthday we removed the catchy, the tray and the front bit of the seat that would hold her in. So now it’s just like a normal chair. She is able to climb in to her chair and get down on her own and eat with us directly at the table

We eirher have her sitting on a regular chair at the table with us or sometimes she prefers her little toddler chair and table. In reality she gets bored quickly and get distracted and wanders off ofen, but as long as she doesn't jump or run with food in her mouth, we let her come and go. She also sometimes wants to sit on someone's lap and we allow that too, at least when she is with us. She is quite tall so hasn't been in a high chair for the last year or so.

Either with us on a regular dining chair or at his toddler table and chair, he has done this since he was 2 x

At the table with us or she has her own little table and chairs, she's done this for a long time I think I got rid of the highchair around age 1.5-2 x

She had her own little ikea table and chairs, our dining table is currently not usable as a dining table but we also have a Tripp Trapp which would be useful

We have a booster seat attached to the dining chair and she sits at the table with us.

Just a normal dining room chair now she loves it

Normal dining chair at table now.

We have a booster seat strapped to a chair around the dining table

My Son has been sitting at the table with us since he was 1.5, as he's quite big. Usually he eats really well when we're sitting with him and he'll only get up and down if for some reason we're not sitting with him , but he almost always finishes his food 🙂 I just think he won't be young forever, so I don't fuss too much right now about him sitting still, especially when we're at home.
