Paternity questions

I have a friend who came from another county pregnant. The baby father is not here in the US. How should she go about the baby's birth certificate? Will they give her trouble? He is in Africa.

Are they married? If not he has to travel to be there to sign the birth certificate otherwise he can’t go on its only if your married he can go in whether there or not

@Stephanie hi there. They not married? Will they live it blank or they'll use her last name on it

So it’s likely the father part will be left blank if he can’t get there to register baby and mothers will be filled in babies name can be either surnames whatever they choose

Okay thanks

Actually not the case. It’s not actually complicate. The father will have to sign an avidavit saying confirming that he is the father and that he is accepting full responsibility of the child in question. This has to be done through a solicitor pp

@Lyfe I understand but the paper have to come from here or the hospital will give it to her

Its signed by him and a lawyer over there, and then sent to her. She then shows it at the birth registration to confirm he is the father and has legally accepted he is the father on paper (the avidavit).. This was how i registered my Childs father a few years ago as he wasn't in the country at the time
