Gift for a friend

Those of you with older babies, please can I have your input? I would like to buy my best friend of 20 years something to celebrate her daughter’s upcoming first birthday. I like the idea of celebrating her too on her birth day because she’s a truly wonderful human being. I am going to get her a bunch of flowers but I would like to try and get her something else too but I have too many ideas and I’m not sure what would be best. Did anyone get you anything on your child’s first birthday that you really loved? Can anyone make any suggestions please? I want to give something that is meaningful and celebratory of motherhood but won’t just collect dust. I’m finding making the decision hard because I haven’t reached this milestone with my son yet so I can’t use my own experience to help me. Perhaps I’m over thinking it and flowers and a card would do the trick.

This is such a thoughtful gift! One of my friend done me a little hamper of self care bits.. had some face masks, bath bombs, a new book, a new journal, a Costa gift card and a book mark with photos of me and LO.. it was such a lovely thing to receive! - especially the book mark! X

Exactly what @Charni said, a self pampering gift is such a nice touch. Mums often get looked over, so something that promotes self care and love is always nice x

You could either put 1 together with all her favourite things or 'not on the high street' or 'etsy' have lovely options x

Thanks everyone! In the end I packed her a gift bag with the following: - Two Milka chocolate bars: the plain milk and the mixed milk and white. - A nice scented candle which I know she’ll light while she’s in the bath. - A load of the Superdrug clay face masks because they were on offer. - A pack of hyaluronic acid tissue masks - A card with a nice message from me. I know she hasn’t opened it yet because she presumed it was for her daughter so I’m looking forward to her discovering her goodies when her daughters birthday comes around ♥️
