Overwhelmed/Scared

Hi, I’m 35 weeks and have suddenly started feeling so scared and overwhelmed by the thought of birth and having a baby. I’m getting panic attacks over can we afford it now and in the future? How are we going to manage juggling work/life/school? My mind is going in to overdrive and I feel so lonely with it all as well. Has anyone else felt this way? Xx

It's very normal reaction to be fair it's a huge change within your life and trust me it will all come within time and you'll know what to do when it comes to it. 😊 Of course there will be challenges along the way but you will again, just figure it all out 💖

Exactly what lovely Laura here just said… “you will know what to do, when it comes to it” If you waited to afford to have a child, it would never happen! Be kind to yourself, take one day at a time and fight the battle of the day not the one that ‘might’ happen in 2weeks time. You will be amazing at birth as your body will tell you what to do and you will have professionals around you to advise you and explain everything. Try to lessen your overwhelming options by making a birth plan…. If you have a vaginal birth and if you have a c-section…. Try to take away some of the ‘if this happens’ and give yourself the control back. Birth, kids, life is scary when you can’t plan…. But you will know how to cope as things happen. Mums become VERY good at juggling everything…. You will rock it chickie xxxx

Oh bless you. I had this panic early on in pregnancy.... and it's my 2nd! It's totally normal to feel like this sometimes. It will pass and you WILL manage. The important thing is to not overthink it and just deal with the problem you have in front of you right now. You'll work the rest out as it comes up. Like Shellz said - having a clear birth plan can make you feel much more prepared for the birth. Have you ever done mindfulness / meditation or have you looked at hypnobirthing? It might make you feel more calm about the whole thing
