Did your name choice change throughout your pregnancy?

I am 20 weeks and have a perfect name picked out for my LO as it’s meaningful to myself and my husband but everyone says it sucks or they have better ideas or they just say I’ll change my mind a million times before he’s born. Please tell me I’m not the only one 🥲

we had a short list and weren’t really sure until like a month or two before he was born but when we decided on a name we liked we didn’t tell anyone to avoid all that

I always thought it was silly when people would keep their baby name a secret throughout pregnancy, until we chose a name and it was criticized. Why is everyone so concerned with other people’s children’s names. I’ll be keeping the next one a secret.

Yeah, at least the middle name is secret 🤫

We agreed on a name when I was around 10 weeks pregnant, before we knew the sex, and never liked anything more so he's always been called this.

I modified my daughters name while pregnant. I knew if I had a girl I would call her Eira (snow in Welsh), but I ended up changing it to Eirlys (snowdrop) but we call her Eira as a nickname, and most people don’t even know her real name. So I wouldn’t call that changing it, I was certain on the name I always wanted and I stuck to it

We decided on my sons name at 5 months and we never changed our minds he’s 2 now and I’m so happy that’s what we chose

We picked the name before we even found out the sex. It was going to the name either way, never changed our minds. Also screw other people’s opinions. We got a few eyebrow raises with ours, but we also have gotten a lot of people telling us they love the name. You can’t please everyone, so don’t try! Just please yourself

Yep we've had a name since about 20 weeks and haven't told anyone, specifically to avoid the feedback

We picked the name the week we found out I was pregnant and never changed the first or middle name. We also picked 3 other names for future children and I’m 99.9% positive those won’t change either. Including middle names

we had our little man's name picked out within 3 months of pregnancy, xxand it never changed. Nothing else stood out to us

We agreed on a name for both genders before 20 week scan and have stuck to the name and haven’t changed our minds and don’t plan to x

We only changed ours once about 3 months in. But we had picked out the other name years in advance and decided against it since everyone we told it to told us they hated it. I won’t be telling anyone baby names until after they’re born in the future.

I would say if you really like the name stop telling people the name. Everyone will have an opinion.

We picked our daughter’s name when I was like 12-13 weeks, somewhere around there and it stuck. I had her first name & one of her middle names picked since high school🤷🏼‍♀️ but I also kept it a secret till she was born

This is why didn't tell anyone the names we liked because we didn't want anyone's opinion

What's his name? If you don't mind, me asking. We didn't announce my son's name as we weren't announcing his gender until birth.

We have had the same name since before we knew she was a girl. We haven't told anyone the name won't tell anyone the name until she is born in a few weeks. We have used a fake name which a few people have been like you can't be serious and my husband has them convinced it's the real name but my poker face isn't great.

@Jessica, what's the fake name? I've considered this as I don't want opinions if my partner and I love the name.
