@Chelsey aweh. Well hopefully you've been able to create at least one genuine friendship in life even though you feel like you're awkward, I definitely feel awkward all the time too so I get that feeling . We've never been to heritage but definitely love sparks and the zoo! Board games I enjoy , computer I can't do for some reason lol I do enjoy walking as I don't drive so I walk or bus it everywhere if I'm not with the husband lmao . I love cooking as well! We definitely have some things in common. I'll clean while you cook? Dream team lol . I get that , I have a friend that is completely opposite of me from what we think politically and socially but we understand everyone has different views and that's their opinion on things .
We are hitting Heritage today after breakfast :) I'm making carrot cake waffles 🧇😋 Kiddo wants to see the train, and there's only 2 more Sundays before the main part of the park is closed for the season. We have been a lot this year- they've got trains, old cars and farm animals, it's my 2.5 year olds dream lol I like the computer games for solo decompression time. 😅 And there are more 2 player options than there are in board games for hubs and I. Board games are great when we can get at least 1 other couple over to play 😀 I am also a transit and walking only girly, it makes getting out rough lol but up until 2 weeks ago I was WFH, (seasonal contract) so I didn't actually have anywhere to go? 😆 I'm not wired to just let it be, depending on what the differences in political leanings are. Some things are easy to just be like "oh, it's a totally acceptable difference of opinion", but others are a hard pass.
I think what the biggest struggle is that every mom has very different social needs than others and unfortunately your “friendship” language might not match with someone else’s. If one has higher social and emotional needs than the other, then it leaves one or both moms dissatisfied and upset.
Nope, I do not find it easy to make friends at all! But I'm also a neurodivergent awkward af introvert, so that does play into the "unable to easily make friends" part. ^_^; I am currently job seeking, so funds are tight for plans, but we have memberships to Heritage/Spark/Zoo. I like to game, both board and computer, I need to get more active, even with just walking. I enjoy meal planning but not prepping, however I LOVE cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. I hate cleaning up afterwards though. I have strong political and social leanings and find I lose respect and care for people who lean strongly in the other direction very easily.
