Help potty training!

We've been trying to potty train our lb for the past 2 days & it's going horrendously. He has accidents then holds it in until he's absolutely desperate. Managed to get him to have a wee on the potty but he was hysterical & screaming to get off. Any tips or is he just not ready? Hate the pressure from older family members asking why he's not toilet trained.

I would say not ready. My boys went after they where 3. Straight peeing on big potty like daddy 🙂

Tell them he’s not a performing monkey. He’ll do it when he’s ready. If you push too hard, it becomes a ‘thing’. If he has no interest, then leave it a week or two and try again. Boys tend to train a little later than girls too. In the meantime, read books or watch potty training stories on YouTube… get him something he can only use on the potty/toilet..(bubbles work well!) and make it fun, not stressful. It is hard.. anyone who says different had a child that was interested in using the toilet when they decided to train. X

So tough but sounds like he needs to feel more comfortable on the potty.. maybe don't pressure weeing.. when you put the TV on maybe negotiate he sits on. The potty when watching TV or when you read books. Make the potty a happy/fun place 🤷🏼‍♀️ pretty much what I did with my son He now has no issues with being scared or hating the potty

Thanks ladies, I appreciate the advice ❤️

I would say wait a little while and try again but im no expert as ive only just potty trained my little girl (jan 22) but from my experience with her she wanted to use the toilet. I would tell family to stay out of it they are still young even the health visitor said my little one was young and out of all her friends (say 10) its only her and one other girl who are out of nappies so please dont feel pressured xx
