Refusing to eat

Has anyone else’s baby started being really fussy with food? My LB barely seems to eat anything at the moment (unless it’s sweet, processed or out of a packet 🙄) it’s getting to the point that I’m worrying about his nutritional intake. Does anyone have any advice? Please and thank you 😊

Is he teething? My boy goes right off food when teething and will only eat certain things. I had it all week last week and I was getting worried, no veg or fruit intake at all. I will put something in front of him and he will chuck it on the floor, very frustrating.

My son is doing the same. The pediatrician says it’s normal! He’ll have a favorite food for a while and the completely go off of it. He ALWAYS wants graham crackers, but those aren’t very rich in vitamins or protein or fiber! I just consistently offer him different things and consider it a success if he takes a nibble or interacts with it.

@Jade he might be actually, he was very premature and his teeth have come in suuuuper slowly. Like when they’ve erupted they’ve take absolutely ages to fully sprout so it’s been hard to track his teething really 🙈

@Emily this is comforting to know (as comforting as this level of frustration can be obviously 😂) I’ll just persevere and hope his eating picks up again. At the moment he’ll scoff something one day and then act like it’s the most offensive thing ever the next day 😅

@Sarah i always know when I’m in for a bit of a rough patch. His cheeks go rosey, runny nose, dribbles a lot, hand in his mouth, bites down on his bottle and can have a sore bum. All linked to teething. My boy has 4 at the bottom and 4 at the top but I think his back ones are coming through. There were 3 days where he barely ate nothing. I just made sure he was drinking plenty and ice lollies are always a hit too! Does your boy chuck his food on the floor?

@Emily same here If he eats a couple of peas, takes a bite, licks it, holds it, even looks at it it's a win 😅 soon we won't be able to keep our boys away from the fridge 🤣 all will be okay ✨

I am going through this too. Always happens when he has a tooth coming through. He spits out anything solid so I revert back to purees for a few days and then he seems to go back to normal. Yesterday he refused milk and his water too. Resorted to giving him the sugar free flavoured water just to stop him getting dehydrated. He's back to normal water today although refused his milk again. He's got a cold/runny nose from his tooth so he's feeling a bit under the weather I think x

I am going through the same with my little man. He refuses to eat anything he can't hold to put in his mouth and to top it off it has to be crunchy 😢 we keep offering him food and veggies but it all gets thrown on the floor . Hope this phase ends soon as i am done cooking separate meals for him.

We’ve just came out of this phase, everything I cooked got thrown on the floor, wouldn’t eat breakfast, couple of bites for dinner, no tea. I was really worried about her. The I noticed two molars coming through and once they’d broken through she’s been eating loads better!

I was just about to make this exact post! Our LB was the kind of baby who eats anything you put in front of him, this past week we won’t touch anything past his lips that isn’t pasta, a banana, orange, crisps or processed freezer food (potato waffles, fish fingers) we are lost with what to do 🙃 do we keep trying different foods and wasting food or just feed him what we know will fill him up?

@Jade oh yeah he’s a big advocate of introducing his meals to the floor 🥲

@Jasmine I really don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ at this point I’m just pleased if he eats anything. He still has a night time bottle which he’s happy to have so I’m not looking a gift horse etc 😂 😅
