Potty training

Soooo... are we doing this now? In all honesty, I haven't started. I have a realistic toilet style one in the bathroom that she plays with but that's about it. How are we planning on doing it?

I've started putting my little one on it first thing in the morning and before her bath in the evening. Just so she can get used to it but she has done a few wees and poos in it so far :)

Personally I won't be starting until he can communicate. I feel it's hard enough knowing what he wants sometimes without throwing poos and wees into the mix. 3rd baby here so I try to keep things as simple as possible

Only poops. I know she does a poop after breakfast so I put her on the toilet then. Usually she poops without signs, so I can't do it each time, but this one is a pattern.

Put him on after his afternoon nap and mornings and at bath time. He's wee d in there about 4 times. Early introduction is how I did it with my first and he was using potty by 18 months if he was bottomless.

We’ve started but very informally. He hates nappies so I figured the sooner we can get him out of them the better. I do his nappy changes standing up now and usually end up chasing him around the room during it so I got a potty just to catch some of the accidents that happen whilst doing this! I then thought if I’m doing that I may as well start building the association that the potty is for poo and pee so he also has a realistic toilet one now too in the bathroom.

I will start potty training when he asks me. I'm 100% sure I have some traumas because of the way my parents potty trained me and don't want to do the same with my son

We didn’t start with my son until he was able to communicate and understood he needed a wee or a poo and will do the same with my daughter who is 13 months at the minute! As Lucy said, just keep everything as simple as you can and if there ready also youl know. Each child is different but I just think until they can communicate with you wee or poo and identify that themselves then it can become very frustrating! But for the time being she follows me to the toilet (no peace 🤣) and she can learn from me until she can communicate it!

I won’t be starting until at least 18 months. We both work full time and I’m not taking time off just yet to try potty training. My brother potty trained all 3 of his kids in a week when they were 2. I’ll probably try to do that :)

@Annalise my son poops very inconsistently lol can be anywhere from one every 3 days or 3 in the one day 🤣🤣
