Totally! Hard to relate to something you can’t really see or feel much yet right? I know plenty of women who have felt the same even after their baby was born. Having an “instant” connection is a requirement to being a mom, it takes everything different things and different lengths of time to build a connection, it will come eventually! Some times it takes a little bit of time but I promise you it will come eventually! It is no way means anything negative about your ability to be a good mom - things take time! You’ll find your own way to connect with your baby. ❤️

I want to make some edits I didn’t proof read 😅 : Totally! Hard to relate to something you can’t really see or feel much yet right? Yes, that is normal. It can take time. I find it helps to talk to your baby. But also, know your hormones are going all over the place. And it can be hard when you can't feel or see your baby. There's nothing wrong with you or your ability to be a mom. You will feel that connection at some point. Maybe it's when you feel baby move around in your belly. Maybe it's when you see baby for first time. Maybe it's when baby smiles at you for the first time, but it will come

@Amanda I’m glad to hear that because I didn’t want to feel like my baby will be a burden when he/she comes or to feel like a bad mom because of it I’m just really scared just for that reason

Babies can feel like a burden too, but again, All these feelings don’t mean you are a bad mom and are common, this stuff is SUPER HARD and when you toss in hormones our emotions are not in our control. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows and the road is tough sometimes. A good support system and people who can watch out for you in case something escalates to postpartum depression or anxiety is great - but know that the fluctuating feelings or not feeling happy all the time is very normal. Things get easier with time. And I wouldn’t assume these either, you could at 20 weeks feel your baby move and suddenly you feel a connection and have a wonderful birth and postpartum experience! Your body floods with oxytocin after birth also to help you bond, all in all I wouldn’t worry - what you’re experiencing is perfectly common. I might suggest YouTubing some of other people’s experiences who are similar that always makes me feel less alone and gives me hope for positive endings!
