More bleeding and a longer hospital stay

I shared a post a week ago about how I was admitted into hospital for heavy bleeding with a potential low lying placenta and got some positive feesback :) Turns out it's potentially placenta previa because while it cleared up - it returned 4 days later and again 2 days ago coupled with contractions. It was scary but sitting in hospital on bed rest has forced me to find my inner trust, patience with healing and faith. I never realised the unpredictability of pregnancy. As my baby kicks downward, we can expect bleeding - so it's good to have a diagnosis. I have to be here at least another 2 weeks and if it continues, a possible 30 week emergency caesar. I've had to cancel all baby showers, be off from work and get used to doing nothing. Am on a 3 day IV to reduce contractions and even a day of magnesium sulfate for babys brain in case of preterm labour. He is a champion doing okay and I'm trusting the process - I'm in good hands here. It's just so scary everytime there's a new fresh bleed and I go into mental demotivation. I'm hoping and praying my placenta moves now that I'm 28 weeks as I know it's possible but I've learned to not have expectations now. Anyone have similar unexpected experiences in your pregnancy? I'd love to hear!

I was just hospitalized this past week for preterm labor! Thankfully everything slowed down and I was able to be discharged Thursday afternoon but being there and not knowing what was going to happen was so nerve wracking. I cried everyday. I was also scared because I just wasn't expecting this at all. I'm glad to be back home but I'm gonna be induced which I don't necessarily mind but was hoping for natural labor this time. baby boy is good and safe and he tolerated contractions really well, had strong heart rate and everything so im Thankful for that.

I had a total placenta previa starting at 15 weeks. I had a couple episodes of bleeding also and had to stay a couple days. My doctor recommended csection at 37 weeks to reduce rupture or a hemorrhage. Baby boy had no issues and totally healthy 🥰

Hi mom. So for clarification, you had an initial diagnosis of low lying placenta and it moved and then came back down to a low lying position? Trying to figure out what you meant when you said it cleared up and returned 4 days later

Oh my @Leslie I can totally relate to how scary it is... it's a total unexpected experience and your mind runs everywhere. You also worry about the baby but I'm so glad your lil one is good and you're back home!

@Bri thanks for sharing your experience! Bleeding is just so nerve racking... so glad you were able to have the csection and make it to 37 weeks!

@Fran sorry, what I meant was the bleeding returned - I didn't word that clearly. The placenta is still low lying. I'm almost off the drip to reduce contractions, still spotting also (this is the third bleed) but just praying that either the bleeding/contractions subside OR my placenta moves which supports that. That's why I have to stay longer in hospital...to be monitored in case either return, so I can be seen to. If there's no improvement, I'll have to deliver early but if things get better, I can carry him for longer.

@Seshni no worries I was startled for a moment due to my own experience. Lol I hope that being in the hospital and on bed rest can help out a stop to the bleeding and you can stop contracting. We need baby baked a little while longer! Prayers and blessings momma 🙏🏾

Thanks so much for asking though and for the kind words @Fran
