I imagine there will be relevant FB/other groups for professionals in your area of practice. (I'm part of a Canadian women's lawyer group on FB for example). That might be a good place to look for advice/guidance on making your practice work for you. My understanding is many therapists /counsellors are self employed so set their own schedules. I thought about going that route since my first degree is in psych but I really dint enjoy the admin side of being self employed.
@Melissa yes ofc My struggle is actually the getting and maintaining clients but I think there's organizations that can do that for you cuz I don't mind seeing different people all throughout the day
@Erin congratulations Mama I wish I thought to do that but I'm going through some severe crap with separation and DV and I just want to say thank you for sharing the inspiration and that you enjoyed it that's the main thing is enjoying it!! Will definitely be in touch
I’m sorry to hear 💔yes reach out if needed! Personally or professionally! You got this mama
I am currently finishing the Masters of Counselling in Psychology through Yorkville university and have enjoyed it! I did most of it through mat leave and it has been manageable. I know many other of the people in the program work part/full-time as well. Now in my practicum portion which has been great to begin practicing with clients. Reach out if you want to chat!
