I introduced food when my baby girl was 5 months old. I knew she was ready because everytime I held her while I ate, should would reach for it or even if I’m drinking something. I started her on green vegetable purées, then fruit.

6m when she could hold her head up well, sit relatively unassisted in her chair, and showed interest in food. I did both purées and Whole Foods. Lots of people like to start with root veggies cooked until soft like carrots. You could to avocado or banana too. I think for my second baby who is turning 6m in two weeks we are going to do bone broth for his first food. Give him little spoon fulls of that. It seems like a big deal with the first but I really don’t think it is. Don’t stress too much about it 😊 let them play in the food, taste the food, and don’t worry yet about how much they’re eating. The point is exposure to food not nutrition from it yet.

We started our son on rice pretty early, around 4 months. He had horrible reflux. Like both of these ladies said- they'll show interest and just make sure they can hold themselves up pretty good. At the latest probably 7 months
