I’m sorry to hear she’s allergic but my baby put her hand in the bag and then licked off the residue

I do dog sitting n my 18 month old old has done this too 🥲 I’ve found the only way to prevent baby from playing with dog food/water is by feeding on a schedule n keeping baby away during that time or just simply removing the temptation by removing the bowl when in the same room. I have yet to be able to just tell her no or play the constant game of pulling her away when she’s going for it

Maybe put dog food up high and out of reach. Then when you feed the dog put him in a specific room and close the door. Keep his food bowl and water in that room and put a baby gate or keep the door closed. She may not have had a reaction yet, but it’s still not good for her to eat. Also maybe you could pretend to get “sick” and tell her it’s from eating the dog food. Have it be a teachable modeling moment where you show her what can happen if she eats things she shouldn’t. Not sure if that makes sense sorry lol

We got a retractable gate! We put it infront of the dog bowls so when the dogs are eating or their food is sitting out uneaten we close off the gate so no one can get in there (:

Also getting your toddler their very own set of dog bowls LOL we do sensory play in a separate bowl set for my son (: we put water and ice cubes and a bunch of toys but he only plays in his own bowls he’s learning to leave his dog brothers bowls alone

I have had to move my dogs kibble it's out once he is down for a nap i have debated on putting it in her creat as we don't let him in her space. I have just made it a habbit once he gets up from his naps before I get him to put put her food and water out of his reach
