Glucose Tolerance Test
Is anyone having to have this?
I am wondering why I have to have this. I've read the leaflet and out of all the symptoms it is because my BMI is high. I am literally sick of hearing it 😭😭😭

@Ayesha my consultant has told me it's just because I am overweight. I know it's sounds awful I wouldn't mind if I wasn't pregnant like but I don't know how am gonna cope without any water for however long
I think you are allowed to drink water but no food. But double check this before your appointment.

I was told it’s mandatory for black & Asian women to have this as we’re at a higher chance of having it?
@Naz oh really. I'm going to ring them and ask them why because I do just think it's my BMI but I'm gonna have to get it checked for my baby's health anyway you know x

I’ve had to do mine in 2 previous pregnancies and again in this one based on my ethnic origin. Other reasons could be family history of diabetes. It’s not only if you have a high BMI. The hardest part of the test for me is the 12 hour fasting before it. I found the drink was alright but I felt sick waiting during the 2 hours because I was hungry.
