Good idea or silly idea.
On my son’s 2nd birthday we are taking him to kids space. We’re are going to let family and friends know they are welcome to come and join us. 🎉
I am worried that no one or hardly anyone would turn up but I guess we will see.
Before his birthday we’ve already planned a holiday for the 3 of us which is why we aren’t having a party x

You could always ask a few of your closest friends/family if they are definitely coming? So you know somebody will be there? Or tell your little boy it's just you guys and let it be a fun surprise that other people are coming?

It’s funny because we was going to kids space this week! I think your son will like it and even if nobody shows up.. oh well it’s about your son having a good day so go for it
