Baby refused breakfast

7 month old normally loves eating! Have had no problems at all! This morning she put few bits of omelette in mouth/avocado and was absolutely hysterical even after I took her out and offered milk! She was kicking and crying😢 Should I be worried? Trying so hard not to let this cause me to spiral into being anxious about her eating!

They go through phases with it. It’s really important to not get anxious when it comes to food. If we’re anxious, they then pick that up & get anxious, when they’re anxious the brain cuts off the hunger feeling. Weaning is very up & down. You have to remember that we’re feeding them when we think they should eat; they might not be hungry, they might not feel like eating what we’ve offered. Kicking & crying is their way of communicating. 7 months is still very young too, it’s just getting used to foods at that stage. Don’t stress x

did she have a little skin reaction? my baby was fine with egg for a long time, now the last few times I've given it he quickly gets upset and I noticed a reaction a couple of times but also as the previous commenter says, sometimes he'll randomly hate something he loved before then the next day he'll be back on it - they're nothing if not unpredictable!

Don't worry and just let them have milk that day. You will go through phases all the time where they go off all food, one meal, a different meal, their favourite food, eating with cutlery, not eating with cutlery, only eating when distracted/with toy, not eating when distracted... My LO was super hit and miss until about 8/9 months, pretty consistent at 11/12 months but will still suddenly randomly refuse food. Really no biggie

@Ina this is really reassuring to hear as I’ve been worried about my daughter. I’ve just started my little one on BLW she’s 11 months old. We’re only a few days in, and our meals have been a hit and miss. She doesn’t finish her meals and she only has a few bites. I worry she’s not eating enough, as if I were to spoon feed her pureed/mashed food I know she would finish it.. what to do ..

My little one also has days like this, normally it's because she just wants to sleep/is going through a growth spurt 😊

What amelia said ⏫️ It could also be teething,

Thank you everyone!! She ate her lunch normally! I think she was tired this morning and grumpy as I had given her breakfast later than usual
