Chewing

How/when did your babies learn to chew solid foods? Mine just bites a chunk of and leaves it in his mouth, then falls out eventually lol

A peadatriciton recommended melty puffs and while I wanted to stay clear of things like that I really think it’s helped my little boy with chewing! He does take big bites though which we are thing to work on. Also we really over exaggerate chewing motion when he is eating x

As Amy says, you need to show them what to do with the exaggerated chewing action. Took my little one a couple of weeks when we first started and now she mostly remembers without the action unless we give her a new food which is harder to chew. I also recommend melty puffs to help him learn and you feel more comfortable too.

Thank you both for your suggestions ☺️ I’m currently already doing melty sticks and the exaggerated chewing, I guess I’ll keep going and hopefully he’ll figure it out soon!

@Abigail I saw somebody suggested having chewing gum while doing it too x
