Contraception after birth

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with my second and we are sure this is our last baby. I was wondering what other people have experienced with IUDs? Was is really painful when inserted? Did you have any complications? I know for a fact I want to try and avoid anything hormonal as it makes me a miserable person and kills my sex drive 😂so was reading about non-hormonal IUDs and was hoping to go for this. Just don’t know anyone who’s had this before.

I’m on the mini pill as we’re also done having kids, but come November my husband is calling to book his snip snip for December 😂

@Elena yes my husband is considering that but he’s bot quite ready yet too afraid 😂he’ll defo do it in a couple of years time as that’s the easiest way to be safe and avoid me taking hormones or go through prolonged painful procedure or disadvantages of some females contraceptions

Try and get him to see the consultant who does it. Basically, my partner got an email with a video explaining everything before his appointment. The consultant was super nice, but our busy work season was starting and he couldn’t take a week off to recover afterwards. Also, tell him there’s a lot of sex involved in the first 3 or 4 months 😂😂 that’s what mine said 🤷🏼‍♀️ (while you’re still on some type of birth control, just to be safe) then he needs to go and test if his swimmers are not producing anymore and happy days 😂

I have the copper coil as I didn’t want hormones , took me years to Pluck up the courage as all I have read was horror story’s but it’s the best thing I did x
