Food consultants?

I’m not sure if this is even a thing but do food consultants exist? We are at our wits ends with our little boys eating, or lack of should I say. This isn’t a new thing, it’s been this way from weaning. Does anyone know of any private professionals that can help us please?

Have you spoke to your HV or GP about being referred to a dietician?

I don’t know any professionals but I am in a Facebook group for fussy eaters and there is useful advice (in amongst the stuff I have heard a million times) but more Likely someone in there is An expert and can direct or people may know of someone x

Yes, they exist as dieticians I would think. You can ask the GP to refer your LO to one.

@L 💜 we found the HVs in our area to not be overly helpful unfortunately. Not gone to our GP yet, thanks that’ll be the next step then x

@Ani thank you. What’s the name of the group?

@Vicky yeah unfortunately some HVs aren't all the helpful. If your worried I'd definitely seek help from the GP. Do you keep a food diary as so show what he eats? Does he still gain weight at all? The nursery nurse I see (my HV is also extremely useless) said to keep track in case he ever gets referred. I have a premature baby who only puts on 100/200g every 6-8 weeks. So it's likely my LB will be referred.

My little boy is the same. He will literally only eat mini homemade pizzas and macaroni pasta. Then eats absolutely nothing at nursery!😫

Our son is the same with his food! Literally won’t try any new things, barely eats a meal. He would quite happily live off milk and snacks! If you find anything worth while please do share!! Xxx

@D'Arcy just seen your comment and my little boy is the exact same with milk and snacks! X

I follow this fashion influencer on instagram called Oliviarose and she took her son to a private specialist and said it really helped! It might be in a highlight or something on her instagram

@Andrea thank you x

@L 💜 we haven’t kept a diary but I’m going to start taking before and after photos of all meals as feel that will hopefully show how bad it can be x

@Alex we have only a few foods he will eat too. If we only offered him what he ate it would be rotating the same 3 lunches and 3 dinners. We still offer him what we have at dinner but it often causes meltdowns x

@D'Arcy same here. People say “if he’s hungry he will eat” but I honestly don’t believe that. There’s something more deep rooted x

@Vicky trust you gut as a mom and insist to be referred to a dietitian. It is best to be checked by a specialist even for reassurance. I do hope it is just a phase to being a pickitarian as I call it 😊
