She’s still very young! Some babies don’t grasp weaning until a little older! Give it some time and wait till she’s at least over 1yrs old x
Thank you both!! Just feeling a bit overwhelmed and frustrated as being told constantly what other babies are doing at this age and my little one seems to be a little bit behind - like she’s so nearly crawling but just can’t quite grasp it and she gets so angry about it. We spend most of the day her being frustrated! Thanks again 🙂
They all develop at different rates. Don't listen to anyone telling you she is behind with anything x
Please don’t think you’re doing rubbish! 🥺 all babies are so different! Have you joined the baby led weaning group on Facebook? They always have helpful tips and playing with food is all part of learning! We do a mix of finger foods and me feeding him, I mainly feed him the messy foods like porridge/yoghurt/cereal etc. purely because my son has eczema and we have days where he will spend the full meal time scratching and if any dribble/food gets onto him it just makes it even worse and meal time ends in him screaming and me in floods of tears 🤦🏼♀️. If we’re feeding those types of things I always try to have something on the tray that he can pick up and feed himself whilst I spoon feed, whether that be fruit or little crisps. I also put a spare spoon on the tray as well so he can get used to holding that. You’re not doing rubbish though, babies just do what they want when they’re ready! 🤍
This was my daughter all over, happy to eat pretty much anything but wouldn't put it in her mouth herself, wouldn't even touch it! She's almost 11 months and only in the last couple of weeks has started picking things up and putting them in her mouth. It's slow going and she'd still much rather I did it but she's definitely showing more interest! No real advice as I didn't do anything - just let her do her thing - but it will happen for you, I'm sure if it!
Food is just for fun until they are one, so I wouldn't worry too much just yet x
