Have started losing lots of hairs at nearly 4 months pp, has anyone had the same?? Thought it was LO pulling them out at first but seems to be more and more!

yes I am loosing lots of hair and I am 4 months ppl as well ! I am not sure what the cause is.

So strange! I have heard about it happening after birth but didn't think it would start so late!

I lost so much today I got scared!

So that shinny thick beautiful hair people talk about in pregnancy is caused by more oestrogen. After birth your oestrogen drops this sends your hair into its resting cycle and typically starts falling out 3-5 months later. Some women get it even later, I think breastfeeding can delay the shed. For some it’s super noticeable for others less so. I have very thin hair normally, dreading the shed, due any day now

Yess it’s horrendous!! Mine stared at 3 months pp so I’m a month in and surprised I have any hair left tbh. I’ve read that absolutely nothing will stop it but I am taking biotin, wearing a silk bonnet at night, wearing silk scrunchies, only washing once a week and trying my hardest not to touch it/brush it too much! Some say it lasts a few months, others say up to a year so just praying it’s the former 🤞🏼

It's still after birth, isn't it 🤭 yeah its because during pregnancy you lost a little and now falls out all that didn't back then 🙂

With both my babies my hair didn't fall out straight away, my PP hair loss started even later this time around. It's usually as your body lets go of your hormones. It doesn't last forever but can carry on for a fair few months. Nothing can stop it, but I've found using hair oil reduces it. This time around I've lost significantly less because I'm using a very specific hair oil

It’s all down to your hormones. I think I started around 4 months PP last time, it’s not started for me yet and LO is 15 weeks. I know it’s coming soon though 🫣 I didn’t find anything to help, it will happen and then it stops again. I find the worst part is when it all starts growing in again and you have little tufts of short hair sticking out!

Exact same thing. About a week before she turned 4 months. I have super thick hair so I'm hoping I have enough for it not to be too noticeable haha. My poor hoover tho!

Mine is noticeable around my hairline, I have two bald spots that are bright white against the rest of my tanned face 🤦‍♀️

Yeah mine started at nearly 4 months postpartum rather thick clumps 😢
