What do you do when you injure yourself as a mom?

I fell down a staircase yesterday in a public spot and my tailbone and lower back is hurting. I can move around the house, but it’s pretty painful anytime I have to sit down or use muscles in that region. How do you take care of your babies when you’re injured? There’s no family around and my husband works full time so it’s just me.

Girl I’ve been there however I was in a pretty bad accident/crash. My adrenaline wore off an hour later after the whole thing and I was in a reallt painful state that I couldn’t even explain how painful it was. The impact was pretty bad. That whole time for a week I was working as a live in caregiver and it was tough. I refused to get admitted in the hospital so I wasn’t prescribed anything to take but Tylenol was my bsf for the whole time I was sore until I felt better! Hope you feel better soon mama x ♥️

Giiiirl.. be careful! Ive fallen on my tailbone before too and it like activated my sciatica nerve!! I get scared when I step wrong now because it aggravates my sciatic nerve! I had to go to the doctors and get a special cushion to sit on.

@Maggie I’m glad you got through it. I’ve been taking Ibuprofen to get through the day, but it’s tough!

@Diana Good to know. It’s been intensely painful so I might have to look into that. I think I hurt my pelvis too because when I feel the bones back there, the bone next to my tailbone on my left side is crazy tender too. I guess I’m lucky that I can still move though. If I broke something or worse, hit my head, it be serious. Scares me, not being able to be there for my babies. My husband helped out more than usual today, but they typically only have me to depend on.

@Rebecca have you tried looking into a chiropractor?

@Maggie Can you get a referral where it’s covered by your insurance? Could be a great idea.

@Rebecca I don’t really know hun. But I’ve read in some videos on Facebook, Tiktok and IG that some are covered by insurance but depending on what insurance you have. Maybe try call and ask your health insurance or your doctors if they can refer you to places that might cover fully or atleast half. I’ve wanting to do the same too but didn’t have time to call my insurance.
