Has anyone tried the cream as birth control option?

Was explaining to my DR that I am wanting to try the tracking method to prevent further pregnancy at the moment. I want to do this because for me I have never been on birth control except for mirena. I immediately felt absolutely horrible mentally and had pain with sex so I did not keep it in long. That was ten years ago and I was already 23 years old at that point. My lovely mother never took me to a gyno or taught me anything about birth control so I was left to my own devices. I am only looking for those who had experience with this product I do not need comments on my preferred method of birth control I do not want to put anything into my body. I already struggle severely with mental health and anxiety and do not want to add to my load as I try very hard to manage what i experience already. Anyway she suggested this for now until my period returns and I can start tracking. This wasn’t available in 2015 with my first child I personally feel like it’s going to burn?

@Ashley the dr told me it’s about as effective as some birth control pills etc and you can also use it with a condom. I feel strange using a condom after making a literal baby with my partner haha like I’m going backwards but after being on this app it’s very clear women are getting pregnant on every single birth control so why would I put hormones into my body if there’s other options? I’m just sensitive down there and don’t want it to burn or itch

I don't know why she said it's as effective as the pill because it's literally not. The specific one you got is 93% effective clinically, but actually around 86% effective realistically (due to average use habits among the population). You've already made up your mind about it though. I am not sure if it will burn because I've never used it and I don't know what health issues you have that would make you more sensitive. Personally, I can't use hormonal birth control or implants either so we use condoms. There's nothing strange about using condoms with someone you have already made a child with. The point is birth control isn't it? They're still going to work if you use them correctly. I looked it up: the cream *can* burn or make you itch, but that's an *unusual* side effect and not the intended experience. So if that happens to you, pls make sure your OB knows. Another thing is that it can make yeast infections more common. Oh, and the cream won't work if used *after* sex - it has to be before.
