Should I be worried?

This is my second baby after 9 years, and therefore feel almost like a first time mom. I found out at 6 weeks pregnant, set up an appt and all they did was the urine test (did not confirm results) and a blood test of hcg 124k. I have another appt next week for an ultrasound, but this past week has been killing me both not knowing if the baby is fine, but I also don’t eat much these days, first because of the nausea, and next because we’re so broke and I do not love cooking. Every day I wake up wondering if the baby is fine. It’s crazy. Honestly, I’m just ready to switch to a different obgyn so that they can help me with all my concerns

Are the purposely ignoring your worries? When I was pregnant with my last I couldn’t eat at all I was soooo nauseous. I’d eat a cutie and maybe some butter noodles a day. I was negative in my pre birth weight for months in my pregnancy. So if the not eating thing is worrying you, I wouldn’t be too worried. Try to focus on white sodas or ginger ale to help with nausea, focus on simple meals with not a lot of spices. I promise your baby is getting plenty of nutrients even if it feels like you’re not. Focus on a prenatal that doesn’t make you nauseous as well. I take the Walmart brand gummies with no iron cause iron murders me. Also if the nausea is so bad you should be able to get a general appointment early where they can prescribe zofran for the nausea. Switching an OBGYN can be hard but I’d personally only consider it if they were extremely dismissive. If these are your worries, I promise it can be totally normal to not eat/lose weight.

If you are not happy with your current obgyn, and nothing is stopping you from switching, switch! :) in my first pregnancy I went through 3 different obgyns until I was happy with my current midwifery. And now this second pregnancy I’m sticking with the midwives. If you’re not wanting to switch, dont be afraid to ask for what you need

I agree with everyone else to not be afraid to switch OBs if you aren’t happy. I totally understand that constant worry. With my last and this current pregnancy, it’s been the same procedure. They did blood work and urine test at first appointment and a dating ultrasound the following week. I got lucky this time and my doc happened to have their handheld sonogram with her that day.

I'm around 6 weeks right now and have barely eaten since I found out at 4 weeks, i promise you baby is getting everything they need even when we aren't. Crackers, ginger ale, and protein shakes have been my saving grace recently. The wait to finally see baby and hear their heartbeat is absolutely nerve wracking but it's normal for them to wait until 8-10 weeks when they can accurately measure everything. If your ob office is dismissing all your concerns and making you feel unheard, I'd switch, but right now, unfortunately, there isnt a lot that can be done.
