HELP 😩

Goodmorning moms how are u guys getting your baby to eat like real food . She only eats if I’m eating it she still only have 2 teeth with 2 growing in so I still have to purée it I’m scared she will choke . For the past 3 days now I’ve been making breakfast and she hates it 😂 she don’t even eat it she looks at it and literally pushes it off her table . She likes baby oatmeal 🤢 for lunch and dinner she will have chicken macaroni or whatever I’m having I’m just scared to give it whole . I’m sorry I’m everywhere 😂😂 but the 2 main questions are how to get her to eat actual breakfast and can I stop making her food all mushy ?

Need these answers as well.

Yes you can even with two teeth. Their gums are hard . Personally gave bigger piece a because they slobber will soften it up and when feeding remember there’s a difference between gagging and choking my son won’t eat unless he can put it in his mouth himself so I just let him grab it obviously watch them . But it is important for them to be able to learn how to chew that way if they do put something they aren’t supposed to in their mouth the automatic response isn’t to swallow it’s to chew lol at least you’ll be able to catch them before they do. This is personally what worked for me I know not everyone does the same but like I said bigger pieces made me feel better about the choking. ( like a chicken drumstick) and crackers stuff they can hold on their own.

I followed the rule of thumb if you can squeeze the food is fine i honestly introduced solids super late because i was scared of choking as well but thats the only way they learn. My son been on some what solids since 10 months small pieces of chicken, pasta, i still cut it into small pieces though because u can’t never be too safe. Her food doesnt need to be mushy anymore but u should be able to squeeze her food with ur thumb

Like Myah said, there's a big difference between gagging and choking. They need to learn how to work with the gagging reflex (although scary for us). She will throw up some food as she learns this, but it's a good thing. My littleonen is just getting teeth, but has been eating solids since 6 month, so that doesn't matter. Lol, put your finger in her mouth and you'll see how strong her gums are. Try different foods (savory vs sweet. I figured out my son prefers sweet breakfast and savory for other meals) and eat with her since babies model us. You can try large hard items to get that chewing function going. My son loved mango pits when he was learning to eat. He could munch on it and suck the juice. You can also graduate the purees to chunky texture then move to whole pieces of food.

Thankyou so much ladies this advice helped a lot . Im still scared but she has to eat her solids she about to be 1 on the 14th and still eating purées is crazy

@Danasia dont beat yourself up for that girl but u shouldve been experimenting with different foods and textures just to get baby used to chewing and different textures in her mouth but its okay start now but dont rush the baby shes likely not going to eat a whole meal because she will be experimenting

Teeth don't matter when it comes to eating real food. Those gums are hard, plus, the teeth that we actually chew with don't come in until kids are around 2 years old
