Raisins

Hi guys I just want people's opinion on this, I went away a couple off weeks ago and my child with left with my mother in law, while we were away she fed her raisins, I don't feel comfortable her feeding her raisins I think there a major choking hazard, when I got back we went round and she gave her some and I asked her to stop feeding them her as I don't feel comfortable with it, she picks my child up from the childminders once a week and takes her back for tea, and is still continuing to feed her raisins, what do you think about this, am I going mad and too overprotective,

Depends how old she is? My LG is 16 months and I don’t worry about raisins as a choking hazard, but I restrict them for their sugar/impact on teeth.

What is the age of your baby? If the raisins are soft, they are easier to manage however they are very high in sugar and tend to stick to the teeth. At the end of the day if it makes you uncomfortable, it is a valid reason to make it stop.

I would say if you’re uncomfortable she should listen whether you’re mad or not. It’s your child. Also, raisins are one of the worst things for their teeth as they’re very sweet and get stuck to the teeth so maybe if you have more than one reason she might listen?

I’ve been giving raisins to both my kids from 6 months old.

I don’t think you’re going mad at all. It doesn’t matter how old your child is, you’ve asked her not to do it so she should respect this. Why’s she so obsessed with raisins??
