Healthy weight gain?

Hi Mama’s🩷i am currently 22 weeks pregnant with my twins and i have gained around 5/6kg so far overall. The last time i weighed myself (14 weeks) i had gained 5kg - so I’ve put on an extra 1kg by 22 weeks. Is this within a healthy range? I can’t seem to find any information that seems to agree on the same thing

As long as you’re eating healthy and nutritious food is absolutely fine! Don’t try to control how much you’re eating though, you’re not supposed to diet when you’re pregnant. I’m At 36 weeks and gained 22kg

@Diana Thank you lovely! Yes definitely not dieting and being sure to feed these little ones. I am quite active though and do try to eat as much whole foods as i can to be properly nourished but obviously want to be in a good range rather than dipping too low or too high. Congratulations on your pregnancy!🩷

Everyone is super different, my twin pregnancy I gained 13kg, which may sound small but I was eating a normal amount. If you’re concerned best to talk to your midwife though :)

@Allanah Yes! I thought it was quite a small amount considering how far along i am and carrying two little ones, but also read in different places that it is on the higher side, so I’m definitely left confused haha! Thank you🥰

@Gem🤍 my midwife told me that since by BMI was 25.2 I technically was only meant to put on 7kg and I just laughed and she reassured me and just said as long as you’re healthy and keep active don’t worry about the scales. You get people with hyperemesis gravidarum who lose weight pregnant!

I gained 30 kg by the end of my pregnancy with my girls , however, by 8 weeks post partum I lost 20 kg ahah the body is amazing xx

I gained just under 5kg by 22 weeks with my triplets, everyone is different, as long as babies are healthy it’s all that matters :) try not to compare too much, otherwise you’ll end up stressing about it (like I did 😂) xx

I worked in OB and they do not care how much you gain anymore. Some women gain 80lbs some gain 10 in their entire pregnancy, as long as babes are growing correctly and you're staying fed and hydrated that's literally all that matters, don't pay attention to any scale rn

I gained 9 kgs altogether so where you’re at is completely fine or so I think. Everyone’s body is different but if your intuition is saying something else you should defo speak to your gp or contact triage. I was only carrying one baby though so I’m not sure now x
