I didn’t feel anything , just depends on you as a person I just got bored waiting 😂
I quite liked the drink, it was just very sugary orange 😂🙈 I did feel a bit dizzy from the fasting as my appointment was later in the day but as I stayed in the waiting room it was fine. Just tell the midwives there if you do feel dizzy and they’ll check on you ☺️ and take a snack for straight afterwards x
The drink I had tasted like flat sprite. I felt a little sleepy and that was it
Top tip; make sure you bring something sugary to eat afterwards! I didn’t and when I was driving home I had to pull over as I felt like I was going to faint 😅 other then that it wasn’t too horrendous x

@Courtney yes it’s a test for gestational diabetes, only get tested if you’re told by your midwife
Take a book or something to watch coz it’s BORING. The drink isn’t bad, like sweet water, there’s not that much of it to drink (I drank it in about 2 mins and did it slowly 😂) and I felt fine. You’re allowed to drink water so I took water with me too. Definitely take something to eat for when it’s over!
I second @Kyrie take a book or download a movie or a good series 🤣 and a good snack with you for after because you’ll feel the effects of fasting especially after. The drink wasn’t too bad, just really sweet so had to take a few big gulps. I wasn’t allowed to drink water though.
I have a second one next week after being sick an hour & 15 mins into the wait 😭 I was fine with the drink & felt fine up until that point. It just come from no where and my partner said the colour drained from my face just before it. I raised this with my midwife because obviously don’t want the same thing happening again & she said to ask if I can do my wait on site but be able to leave the waiting room, as last time I wasn’t allowed. Think some fresh air would have helped!
When do you need to fast from!
For me I need to fast from 10pm and my test is 9am next morning
@Chloe they say 10pm the night before so hope you get an early appointment 😅
I had mine yesterday and they allowed me to attend way earlier than my time of 8:30, which I think helped me more because I don’t feel hungry that early and I was also pretty tired still so I slept through most of the wait

I just had mine today. I fasted from 10pm last night to 10am this morning for my appointment she took bloods then I drank what tasted like sweet flat orange pop, I felt absolutely fine it flew by, I just online shopped on my phone with headphones in then at 12 she took my bloods again and said no news is good news but if my levels are raised they’ll call me tomorrow xx
@Lauren what happens if your sick for the second test ?
It’s a very long wait - you will defo feel sick and tired but try your best not to vomit because they will cancel it and you’ll have to go through the whole process again! I didn’t like it to be honest so glad it’s over

I really enjoyed my drink 🤣 I had a raspberry one & honestly it just tasted like a very sugary ribena, the 2 hour wait flew by, best to take a book with you or something to do, on the 1 hour & a half mark i did start feeling sick & dizzy however i just got some water & was slowly sipping it and i then felt fine!

You can feel a bit sick from the drink as you have to down it and it’s a bit sweet. But you are aloud to drink water while waiting! I’ve had 2 and it’s never been that bad. Just a long wait
