I started buying things from 20 weeks onwards just to save a massive expense all at once, it’s just storing it is the issue 😂

@Danielle that’s what i thought! like 20 weeks onwards as we only have a certain amount of paychecks to get things hahaha

Yep same, now I've had 20 week scan (due Feb) I'm starting to get clothes now and will get furniture /pram etc in the black friday / Xmas sales x

The sooner you start buying the better. If you buy everything later it’s going to be so expensive. This way you can spread out when you are spending

I started buying all the big stuff after 20 weeks and I was completely done a few weeks after that except for clothes. Prams and car seats can be ordered too as they usually don’t deliver them until after 30 weeks. I found this worked for me as after 30 weeks I then organised everything in the nursery and had time to relax instead of worrying about what I needed to buy x

We started buying small bits from 12 weeks, then bigger bits after 20 weeks. Buying gradually is def key! Also you don’t wanna leave it too late because what if you do go into early labour then you have nothing! And you have to wait for deliveries, put things together etc. I say it’s best to be prepared early and once we had our 20W scan we were a lot more confident buying things. 35W is basically full term so very late!! You’ll stress yourself out waiting until the last minute to do everything

I started buying the big stuff at 25-26 weeks. The pram was delivered at 34 weeks. But smaller things i was buying from 14-16 weeks. I think it all depends on your personal financial situation tbh x

I promise you now don’t leave it that late.. do it all around 20/25 weeks! I had bought hardly anything and I had to have an emergency c section at 35 weeks and people had to rush out and buy me clothes! It’s just not worth risking it 😂

I didn’t get big stuff until 30+ weeks.

20 weeks plus to spread the cost, I already feel overwhelmed with my list so I just couldn’t wait until that late!!

i brought my pram forst, just so i felt relief that worse comes to worth i feel like i’ve gotten something. you don’t want to be stuck in one room all day sorting through everything at 36 weeks pregnant worried constantly that you don’t have time to finish everything off. i would recommend gradually getting everything done. but DEFINITELY get the essentials first just in case anything happens early. and once you have all the essentials it will be a calmer experience getting everything else 🩷

We are pretty much finished buying at 26 weeks and I feel so prepared and organised it’s really taken the stress away from everything, so I would advise start as early as you feel comfortable! We started after our 12 week scan and have accumulated everything over the weeks since then.

Honestly we started buying as soon as I found out I was pregnant. My husband who was my bf back then was in the midst of finding a job and wasn’t really getting any luck. I knew I was going to slack down soon when I’m 7-8months so we started buying slowly till then. We had to get the bigger stuffs first like carseats, strollers, diapers and wipes in bulks cus they be expensive 😅 the rest along the way.

20 weeks

20 weeks onwards I started buying, i definitely wouldn’t leave shopping until 35 weeks - I went off on maternity leave at 34 weeks because I was exhausted, can’t imagine trying to decide on a pram when that heavily pregnant

I started at 18 weeks. Once i found out he was a boy that was me buying lol

I started buying stuff just after the 12 week mark 😂 I’m 25 weeks now and I’ve got my pram, car seat, some clothes, bottle steriliser etc! I’m just trying to spread out the cost so buying a few things each pay day.

I started buying things after my 12 week scan

We bought a few babygrows after my dating scan then started on the bigger bits after my anatomy scan. We also knew that the amazon prime days were happening around the 24 week mark so made a list of what we wanted, added them to a baby wishlist (you get 15% off anything on there sold by Amazon anyway), then when the days hit I went through to see if any was on the sales and bought then x

i started when i knew gender so 16 weeks x

Big stuff 27 weeks and small items like baby clothes etc 32 weeks x

I’m 22 weeks and I really don’t have that much left to buy 😂 I wanted to spread it out, plus with Christmas coming up I didn’t want the worry of having to buy presents on top of baby stuff x

Buy it whenever you feel comfortable! We got most of ours around 25weeks. It also helps things to breathe a bit before baby comes!

I started slowly about 20 weeks.

Bought the larger things around 25 weeks then the smaller stuff (clothes, bedding, pump etc) at 30 weeks. We had everything we needed by 34 weeks

I started at 26 weeks

@Kenyah this is what I’m doing! Started around 12 weeks, 18 weeks now. Buying big things slowly but surely every paycheque

I started at 24 weeks when we hit viability week and I’m slowly Getting things so it’s not too much money at the end

Don't wait that long. I had my baby shower at 20 weeks. Everyone thought it was too early but let me tell you...I was feeling exhausted and dragging around 30 weeks pregnant. I loved being able to take my time to set up the nursery and it was so FUN! A lot of people who missed the baby shower still wanted to order gifts and even though they were "late" in ordering the gifts, they still came before baby was born. I would not have had any energy to nest later on or for it to be rushed. I had so much time to research the best products, compare prices, get my free sample boxes, all of it. Plus a lot of my friends went into labor around 36/37 weeks unexpectedly and I was not about to be unprepared. I am a planner though.
