Maternity leave

When is everyone starting maternity leave? I’m worried I’m going off too early and will have nothing to do, but at the time of booking I felt so tired and done with work. (Finishing next Friday)

My last day is 1st November- I’ll be 37+2. It can’t come soon enough😂😴

I finished 16th sept (34 weeks) using holidays but my mat leave technically starts 21st Oct Everyone said I’d be bored but I have actually really really loved the time to myself! I’m not sleeping at night well so being able to nap when I like in the day is lush 😂

Tomorrow is my last day! I’m 35 weeks and I’m exhausted. Work is mental busy at the moment and I can’t keep up. I need to prioritise me and the baby and I feel like I can’t do that with people pulling and dragging me from every direction at work

I've taken 5 weeks of annual leave in one hit (started monday) and then will be taking my maternity then from the start of November! I literally couldn't hold off any longer xx

My last day is tomorrow also and then am 35 weeks as of Saturday

I officially started on Monday at 34+4 but we’re booked for elective C-section at 37 weeks. I’ve also had 4 weeks annual leave over September

My last day is on the 14th and I’m due on the 8th 🙌🏼

My last day is 31st October. Taking annual leave til my due date on the 10th nov x

My last day is 4th on November, I’ll be 37 weeks. But I wfh so can still bear it

My last day is the 18th (I will be 37+1) and I am due on the 7th November. Two weeks of that is annual leave though! I work in an office so nothing too physical, although I am feeling very ready to go off 🥲 Mat leave officially starts 1st November. I also had a ton of annual leave to use but they have let me move it to next year to pin at the end of mat leave, plus with the annual leave I have accrued next year, it's enabled me to take just over a year off 🥹 I will be returning to work 3rd November 2025

@Natasha that is like me! Had loads of annual leave to use and then mat leave officially starts beginning on Nov

I been on mine for 3 weeks now. Just depends how u feel... I had to give up early cuz I could hardly walk due to being on my feet for 6/7 hours a day and little man deciding to get on my nerve quite literally and laying on my sciatica nerve so was super painful.

I am off from today! Using holiday for 2 weeks with mat leave officially starting when I'll be 35 weeks. I'm exhausted and run down, and looking after a toddler so happy to have some downtime before baby arrives. Do what's best for you but highly recommend a week or three to relax and calm, before baby arrives! We will incur bank holidays, holiday days etc upon return so it usually doesn't work out as too much time less spent with baby as we can beef it out the other side too ;)

8th of October is my last day. But technically my Maternity leave starts 21st of October. My due date is 4th of November. I moved it as I was extremely tired and I was working 42.5hrs 5 days a week and I just couldn’t do it anymore🥲 I took a weeks annual leave the week before it starts plus a a couple unpaid days.

A month before my due date which is the 5th x

My last day is when I’ll be 37.5 weeks

I will start on 28th of OctZ

4th Nov, I'll be 38 weeks. It's a bit late in hindsight, but at least I get longer off with baby 😅

I’m working until my due date 🫣🫠 definitely insane, but I wanted to carry over all of my annual leave etc so I’m off for a year with none of it unpaid!

Everything needs to be officially approved but I’ve applied to start leave 10/24 I’ll be 36 weeks and it can’t come soon enough!

I finished on the 23rd of September at 34 weeks (using annual leave) and I’ve really enjoyed my time to myself. My maternity leave officially starts mid-October which is great because now I know I’m having a c-section at 38 weeks round about that time too so these few weeks by myself napping, knitting, reading and re-watching Gilmore girls have been so nice.

2 weeks before my due date. I’m 35 weeks today in the office and I’m feeling it for sure! 🤣

1st Nov and I’ll be exactly 37 weeks. I’ve had a lot of annual leave over the last month though and honestly I’ve been bored 🥱 I do WFH though so I’m not on my feet etc

This is my second week off. I went off early but I was doneeee. I wanted to spend time with my little one before we add a baby into the mix and wanted time to sort the final things without pressure. I worked literally to my due date last time and just dipped in and out with holiday but I wish I’d threw the towel in sooner and took that pressure off myself

@Minnie I will be 36 weeks when I go off too

Will commence by 35+3

Today is my last day @ work 🥳 (35weeks)

I'm finishing tomorrow at 35+4 and it can't come quick enough. I had the worst night's sleep last night and I'm dreading been a functioning human tomorrow for the last day. I have 2 weeks annual leave then mat leave officially starts

I’m on AL now maternity starts end of Oct or unless he comes earlier than that x

I’m finishing 2 weeks before my due date but have a week off soon. Wanted to take the week off while I’m still able to do stuff!

My mat leave started on the 26th of September, but only because I'm due the 1st of novemeber but being induced next week because of preaclampsia (and I had holidays to use too)

Mine starts from the 5th Nov. I used all my holiday for the last 4 weeks of October. I was meant to be moved to the day shift from September but as they couldn't accommodate me I was given the entire month off full pay. So I've been uncomfortable and very bored at home since the beginning of September.

I’m working till the day the baby arrives 😅 I run a business so mat leave isn’t really a thing but attempting to hang on till the end haha

I started today! 5weeks before due date. I work on my feet so found it really difficult last couple of weeks.. im sure you will find lots to do! Organising baby clothes, hospital bag etc. and just relax! ☺️

In due to start mine at 36 weeks, I’m currently 33 weeks and seriously debating bringing it forward. This baby is my second and I had two weeks with my first and didn’t think it was enough time. I also feel like I’ve got so much to do still, plus tiredness, nausea, cramps, reflux have been pretty bad over these last few weeks! X

I’ve already started as was struggling with the pregnancy and feel so much better for starting early, I’m 35 weeks and was able to use some annual leave to go off now so my official leave doesn’t start until the end of this month

I’m due on 2nd November and my last day was 27th September 😂 I personally am enjoying the time and rest. I honestly can’t think of anything worse than staying on at work and/or stuck in traffic an hour a day. I’ve been so tired and in pain with spd that I genuinely think it was the right time for me despite being earlier than a lot of people would choose. My stress was also bad at work and I’ve suffered with high blood pressure and swelling etc so it’s been needed to take a step back. I just figured that I need to chill out before birth because I wouldn’t have been in the right physical or mental/emotional space for birth if I had done a long 11 hour day at work so didn’t wanna take any risk x

I'm now on annual leave for 2 weeks (36 weeks tomorrow) then mat leave starts at 38 +1. I am so glad to be done. I spent the weekend making a list of things left to do, which us just a few sorting bits, some jobs for hubby and getting baby clothes and bedding all washed and put away, so not to much. Will likely get told Wednesday I will be being induced. So probably only 3 weeks left now

Finishing on 31st oct at exactly 37 weeks, I’m done 😂😴

I’ll be 36+1 on my last day, COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS

@Lauren thats me today!! Im 36+1 currently on my last day at work 🥳🙌

I made the decision to finish this Friday at 34 +3. With a toddler at home it’s impossible to get anything done and I’m worried by the time 36 weeks is here I’ll have no energy for anything! Very lucky to be able to finish earlier though x

I finished last Friday at 35+4. So glad I did as this week so far i am exhausted and just want to stay home in my own little bubble using what energy I do have on getting everything ready.

I think most people do 36 weeks incase baby comes early and then u have time to nest and get things ready and set out for yourself. Snacks for feeding time and things by your bed. Nappies downstairs and upstairs. Meal prep. Outfit bundles to help on days out. So many things that helped me first time round.

I’m due 7th of November and my last day was 20th of September, I thought I could finish September but it became too difficult.
