food for daycare

can anyone give me suggestions on what i can send my 1 year old with to daycare to eat ? they have this rule that they aren’t allowed to microwave anything for babies until they are 1.5 years old , not too sure why but that has me torn bc now i’m just not sure what to send her with that doesn’t need to be warmed up. she is completely over the baby food and just wants the real stuff and i feel bad that she’s there for 6 hours 4 days a week and all she’s getting is bottles and her snacks bc i know she likes to eat and i know how she gets when she wants real food 😭 i do plan on getting her a thermos i just haven’t gotten around to it bc money is tight

I am in the same boat. Only thing I can do is try to get her on the same schedule they are on and provide good wholesome snacks.

I send pouches, teething wafers, and the a fresh fruit or meat such as breakfast sausage slices

I’ve made a tuna pasta salad to send to daycare. 1 can of light tuna 1 cups of diced grapes 2 cups of organic spiral tri color pasta-cooked and chopped for easy to grab pieces Mix together and keep in the fridge. You can do whatever ratio you want of the 3 ingredients honestly. I split some off and add a little olive oil mayo for my lunches. I know it sounds weird but it’s super refreshing and one for my favorites. Protein, grains and some fruit. Easy to dump out for your LO to grab and feed themselves.

Or black bean, diced avocado, corn with lime juice (to keep it fresh) mixed together is a good option too. My LO likes mild jalapeño and sautéed onion added in too

@Kait she loves tuna and pasta idk why i never thought of that thankyouuu!

Grapes can be a laxative but they seem not to run through his as bad when they are mixed with the pasta and tuna. Especially now that we’re weening to whole milk.

Ohh also shredded cheeses! Or I buy a block and cut them into little strips so he can feed himself. That with some berries (blueberries are also a natural laxative so make sure to feed them in moderation)
