When potty training, what kind of "treats" did you give your child to reward/encourage them?

For some reason the only sweet treat I can come up with is the dum dum suckers, a pocket of fruit snacks, or like a mini kit Kat bar. But I'd love to know what else you all have given!

Jelly

I'm in the process of potty training my 2.5 year old son and I do a combo of baked goods like a cookie, but I also went and bought a bunch of the hot wheels cars for $1 and he loves that also. Es obsessed with cars and vehicles so he gets excited more! I'm not a big candy person so little cheap toys could be another option.

I gave mine mini m&ms for sitting them bigger m&ms for going on the potty

None. My daughter loves praise and for us making a big deal when she went for a wee on the toilet and clapping was the encouragement she needed. She then claps herself. We’ve been potty training for a couple of months now and she still says well done or good job and claps when she does a wee. We did initially have some bubbles we kept in the bathroom as she loves bubbles and we would blow them when she went in the toilet

Mini m&m for pee And for a poop, two chocolate chip cookies He was trained in 3days but I slowly took away the reward. So on day 4, every other pee was given candy. Day 5, every 3 times he successfully went he would be rewarded. Day 6 it was only 3 times a day (morning pee, afternoon pee, evening pee) that rewards were given. Day 7 I told him we ran out but continued the verbal praise. The “running out of candy” was awkward 😬 😮‍💨😂 but I wasn’t going to keep up the candy and cookies for another week. He was understanding the game well and I knew he would take advantage and I’d be coughing up candy every 20 minutes or so.

A high five!! 🖐️

Our daycare does stamps on their hands. We do nothing at home because we don’t make it a huge deal and didn’t want to put pressure on my so.

Verbal rewards

My sister did skittles for pee and m+m for poo

Stamps work well too but I did mini m&ms or mini marshmallows

Verbal praise. I freak out whoo hooo yeah you go boy. Clap a lot. Run around the house screaming, "You did it!! He's doing great with it. But he has to be naked, or he goes in his diaper or training underwear. If he's naked, he goes in the potty 90% of the time. We just started 2 weeks ago. He's 2.5

A chocolate chip. Tried stickers or other items and he couldn't care less lol chocolate worked

No treats here just lots of praises. My son thrives in general w words of affirmation and praises

We have been doing it to where if my 4 year old goes in the potty for a week with no accidents we go to the store Friday and she can pick out one toy no more then $5

Stickers and a few smarties

We mix it up sometimes, praise and high 5s,sometimes chocolate or a piece of candy, ice cream, which is super rare cookies. Just depends what I have in the house

Nothing. Currently day training my 18 month old. No treats needed

Pez candy.

I had a bin with little toys and mini candies

I didn’t do treats at all. My friend told me to just take away the diapers and that’s what we did the first three days I was cleaning up pee All day😫 but I just kept putting her on the toilet and then boom that fourth day she sat and did her thing by herself I was so proud cause she’s not even two yet but my hurdle now is pulling her underwear/pullups up and down before she goes. Idk if that was helpful or not but maybe no treats Is also an option too .

We got a bunch of little toys, stickers, snacks and put them In a bucket he gets to pick something when he goes

Couple of skittles or m&m

But the treats didn’t last. She likes her seats so she’ll go without the treats to hang and play

None. You shouldn’t need to do that, and if you do a treat every time then when do you stop doing that?

Sticker chart ,or 1 sweet (haribo)

I clicked suckers thinking it said stickers

No treats. Just a well done or good girl etc. don’t want her to think every time she wees or poos on potty she’s gonna get a chocolate or whatever

Stickers. When she hit 20 stickers she got a cheap little toy. She knew that when she got to 2 weeks she would get a bigger reward and then no more stickers

Usually a high five and lots of verbal praise
