Take away anything that they can color with. And what i mean is only have it around when they are drawing or coloring. Once they get off the table , say ok, this is only for writing or coloring, if you leave the table i have to take it away.

They going to throw a fit, but give it back if they sit and point at the paper so they can understand its purpose.

My toddler understands to color on paper but he gets so excited that he misses the paper…i stopped giving him crayons and bought a big box of chalk colors. He colors on the floor/walls with them and I can easily wipe it off with wipes or I mop the floor and it’s gone. It works for us 🤷‍♀️

I took it away immediately and said mommy told you to only color on paper and you’re not listening so I’m going to take them away now and after she did it multiple times I took it away again and told her she’s going to her room andi put her in there for two minutes and when she came out she said only on paper mama color on paper ON PAPER and she’s never colored on the couch again

I just simply say never write on the walls and they never do it again …nah I’m just kidding I monitor her closely and repeat often “markers are for paper only”

Easily. Take away anything that they can color with

Uuum and u can pop there hands gently show them that’s not right 🤔💕

I use the Crayola Wonder Mess Free that only colors on the paper. My daughter will still try to color other objects in the room and I tell her it only works on the paper. My issue isn’t her coloring on other things, but throwing the markers when she’s done. Still working on that one 🧐

We had an instance where our LO took his dot marker to the window, in addition to overly emphasizing crayons/markers are for paper, we made him clean up the marker from the window (water and paper towel took off), he wasn’t allowed to play with any other toy until the window was cleaned and lost coloring for the night. & Honestly, it hasn’t happened again 🤷🏻‍♀️
