Routine appointments

Hello, this makes me sound completely dumb🤦‍♀️ first time mum to be, I’m currently 27+4 and I was just wondering when my next appointment should be? I’m based in wales UK. My midwife is very bad at contact and hasn’t left any contact details in the badger app. I’ve also only ever met my midwife once at the booking appointment. I have no idea about when I should be having appointments and the letters for them usually arrive the day before or the morning of the appointment.

You should be having one at 28 weeks

My appointments come up on the badger app do yours not do that? I book my next one in every time I go for an appointment x

Where I’m from in Norfolk it’s 28 weeks then 31 xx

@Rhea nothing has been done on my badger app since I’ve set it up, I’m when I had my 20 week they told me I had a low laying placenta and that’s not even been updated on my badger app. There’s literally no information on there at all apart from my EDD and my details that I added. It sounds strange but I feel like I’ve been completely forgotten about by my midwife x

That’s really not right, mine had nearly no information on until I was around 27 weeks, does yours not have blood test results ect from your 16 week midwife appointment xx

How many midwife appointments have you had so far? X

@Rachael I’ve had one appointment with my midwife (around 8weeks) and then a scan at 12 weeks where I didn’t see midwife and a scan at 20 weeks where I was told I had a low laying placenta but met with a different midwife who talked me through what happens next.

I’m in south wales and can confirm that timeline Nathalie posted is right. I’d phone your gp surgery to either book in with your midwife or get her contact details so you can see her for the 28 week appointment. I felt like you, if I didn’t ask what’s next, I don’t think I would have been told

They haven’t even published your results! That’s crazy, not fair that you get a letter short notice and have to go.. when you do next go see if you can book your own appointment there and then that’s what I do

Have u rang to book in with ur community midwife maybe? I had to book myself in for my 25 week midwife appointment with my gp and then the midwife arranged my 28 week appointment there xxx

You should definitely be having more appointments! One at 8 weeks, 16 weeks, 24 weeks, 28 weeks, 31 weeks, 34 weeks, 36 weeks, 38 weeks, 40 weeks! How many weeks are you? They do a blood test at 28 weeks to test iron levels and you should be having your blood pressure and urine checked every time too, and from 28 weeks they will listen to baby and measure bump so need to make sure you are getting these appointments xx

I’m 27 weeks, I never had a 25 week appointment either, I’ll phone my maternity unit in the morning and see if I can get in contact with my midwife. Thankyou for the comments!
