Baby food đź«Ł

Where is the time going! Baby will be starting foods in no time I feel! I've been looking into baby food recipes, since I'll have the time to make his own purées. I've seen a lot of the baby led weaning but I just don't think I'll feel comfortable going right to solids! That being said I started to look into baby cereals and went down a rabbit hole of dangerous things that studies find in them. For example these 9 companies had arsenic in their baby cereal! Anyone have a safe brand recommendation or plan on making their own? I was thinking about making my own cereal but I know cereals can also offer more minerals and vitamins baby may benefit from.

Look into Little Spoon. They regularly offer hugely discounted promos (like 50% off). With my first, I purchased a big order, froze it all pulled put what I needed for the week to pack for daycare. Each packages even comes with a spoon making your life easy. There's a variety of purees that you can choose from. It gets delivered to your home too. Everything about it is easy and worth it when you catch a promo deal. It's fresh too Pureed food is a part of BLW - it's a huge misconception that it isn't.

@Michelle do they have a safe baby cereal you like?

@Bailey i don't believe they offer any cereals. I used earth's best with my first baby. I don't buy any of the rice cereals because of the arsenic concern- just the oatmeal. I don't plan to introduce other foods though until closer to 5-6 months with my June baby unless he starts showing interest before then.

I personally used Beech-nut’s Oatmeal and will most likely use it with my current baby, but I’ve seen good things about Read, Set, Food! I did a combo of making purées and store bought because although I had been home with baby, it’s a lot of work prepping homemade purées. I also did baby let weaning starting around 5months but only with things like mango slices, the Happy Baby teething wafers, steak slices, long stemmed broccoli…. Things big enough for her to hold but not really about to bite pieces off of. I did it more for the flavor and texture experience
