Dinner time

My 1 year old goes nursery Monday-Wednesday and I usually pick him up around 4:30/5 depending on my last meeting of the day. I find that he doesn’t eat dinner much at home but I know he has plenty of food throughout the day at nursery including tea which varies of course. Should i expect him to eat dinner at home if he eats tea at nursery? Like he had half a breadstick, half a toast with honey and some pudding so I’m not sure if he’s hungry or didn’t like what I made.

For our boy his last meal at nursery is about 4.30, dad picks him up at 5. We usually do a small meal of porridge or a snack about 6 to tide him over until bedtime milk (bath at 7, in bed by 7.30). This also usually keeps him entertained while we eat dinner as he just wants to cuddle when he gets home. Based on our boy I would say if your LO has eaten tea with them, then likely he just isn't that hungry when he gets home so doesn't need much for a dinner.

My boys last meal at nursery is tea at 3.30, I collect him 4/4.30 I usually just give him a snack to see him through to bedtime maybe a slice of toast or a banana and some yogurt/melty puffs etc

My little one usually has lunch at nursery which I always pack a lot and he eats almost all of it. I pick him up at 4:30 and he would have a small tea suck a a half tin or spaghetti or 3 fish fingers with a handful of mixed veg. If your worried they don’t like what your making try giving them something you know they like. If they don’t eat it they arnt hungry. Your child won’t eat if they arnt hungry and they also won’t go hungry withought making you aware of it

We’ve always offered a full dinner when they get home (I have a 3yo and twins who are 1). Some days they’ll eat all/ most of it, other days they won’t eat that much. They eat the same of us so it’s no extra work if they’re not hungry. I wouldn’t worry if he’s eaten well at nursery x

My daughter has tea/dinner at 4 o’clock at nursery, I pick her up at 5 and then just offer her a small snack to tide over to bedtime bottle at 7-8ish
