Unhappy all the time

My daughter always seems to be upset, negative, nothing is ever going her way. She turned 9 in June but she has been this way since she was little. I would describe her as a very emotional person!! No matter what happens she looks at the negative as if its hard for her to be happy. Is this normal? I've been hoping she would grow out of it but even things like opening presents at Christmas etc she just doesn't seem to enjoy...

My 9 years old is exactly the same except she has a ton of attitude to go with it I just don’t know how to help her anymore

@Chelsea honestly, all we do is argue.. but it isn't even the attitude its just her constant sadness haha! I always had a positive outlook I think and I struggle with her 🙈

EXACTLY the same thing here. My daughter turned 9 in January and have been going through everything you have mentioned. Holidays she ruins because she’s too focussed on the negatives. We order a meal that she likes, just because the drink isn’t what she ordered she moans and sulks. Just doesn’t seem to appreciate anything we do for her. I’m not sure if it’s us that has made her this way?

My daughter sounds similar but we do have periods of her being different and easy to parent. I would say my daughters biggest problem is she gets frustrated so easily at the smallest of things. What is your daughter like at school? What are her interests? When she's not upset/negative what are her positive traits?

I’m so glad I came accross this post my 9 year old is the same! She gets frustrated easily at silly things and it sets her mood like for the rest of the day. Sometimes she can be so rude and have so much attitude and that’s not how I’ve bought her up. It disheartens me because I don’t know how to help her. I do everything with her and include her in everything I just don’t know what to do.

@C they say when she is at school she's happy, kind, all good things and she's in dance clubs etc but I noticed when she is off school she has a much better day at home... so not sure if she's hiding her anger etc so much in school she's letting it all out at home more or what it is
