Is this typical play at this age? Need opinions

Stuff my son does/doesn't do as play: DOES: Dropping stuff Throwing stuff Putting stuff in his mouth/biting off Holding 2 objects, one in each hand - but very rarely bangs them together General manipulation of objects Flipping pages of books - mainly large children's books but I've also seen him do it with normal books Opening/closing sewn on parts in children's books Opening/closing boxes A couple of times I saw him throwing a pebble in a box Occasionally "kissing" characters with cute faces; sometimes a ball with smiling emoji face on it, sometimes a tablet when a cute cartoon character shows up Pressing keys on a kids keyboard Flipping stuff over Reaching for stuff Walking, climbing, descending Also loves being tickled and it's relatively easy to make him laugh Holding a stacking cup as if he's drinking from it. I think this is done accidentally as a consequence of putting stuff in his mouth, not as a deliberate imitation DOESN'T DO: As I said above, very rarely bangs two toys together Doesn't stack stacking cups, can't even take one out of the other Doesn't stack blocks Doesn't clap Is this typical for this age? What do your kids do?

Based on what he does I wouldn't be too worried. He probably knows how to do it but doesn't want to. Skills may take a while yo show up after a leap.

@Alejandra thank you! He's very active and I see he understands the world around him to an extent, but he's just not doing some stuff I read he should be doing by this age. Mainly banging two objects together and clapping

Yes, it is unusual to not bang items together or clap by this age, but probably no biggie.

Should he learn it on his own, or by modeling?

Modeling is fine, I think they usually learn clapping on their own or from others, but banging toys must be organic because grownups don’t bang toys together.

That's making me extremely concerned. But thank you for your response anyway
