Ivf supplements

Hi. We going to start ivf soon… or at least I hope so! Our nhs funding are been approved and they told us 7/9 weeks for our appointment for the first cycle. I have low AMH and I want to start to use some supplement to have the best chance on egg quality. I use pre conception vitamin, coq 10… but I read to use dhea (no idea where to find it), inositol, melatonin… Any advice?

I used Ovum in prep for mine, it’s been made especially for egg quality and prepping for ivf - https://startwithovum.com/. I am 38 got 6 eggs and ended up with 2 top quality embryos, I am 24 weeks pregnant with one of them. I also used zita west omega 3 dha tablets too

I took a prenatal vitamin, Fish oil, supplements vitex berry, and dong quai. Here is an excellent article on evidence based supplements! https://www.cnyfertility.com/fertility-supplements/

I would recommend you don't use DHEA unless your doctor does blood work as it can have adverse effects if you don't actually need it. My recommendations are ubiquinol (better version of CoQ10), cinnamon, myo inositol, fish oil, prenatal with folate, selenium, NAC

I wouldn’t trust dr google. Most stuff isn’t proven to work or may not work for your circumstances and it’s a lot just charlatans selling you high priced supplements that aren’t worth it. I would follow what your clinic recommends when you have your consultation. Mine requests only vitamin D and folic acid (please note, contrary to popular social media post, folic acid is the only proven preventative for birth defects and not folate, regardless of if you have the MNTHR gene)

Can I suggest you read it starts with the egg by Rebecca fett. She goes through all the different vitamins and things you can do to get your egg quality at its optimum and that will time nicely with your appointment! Good luck!

Get your husband on all the sperm tablets too!!

I actually did take dhea on the recommendation of my consultant but you need to take it for 3 months for it to be really effective. It helped my numbers increase, first round we only got 3 eggs and second round we got 10! Currently 21 weeks pregnant with an embryo for my second cycle!
